Missing objects (atlas of endless gestures) is a series of drawings reproducing odd gestures — hands positioned in space without a function, holding what is no longer there.
The series takes as its starting point promotional images found in discount flyers, brochures, rewards catalogues, advertising pop-ups and interactive online-shopping PDFs.
These cheap and ubiquitous images, designed to perform desire and naturalise consumption, are reproduced through drawing, and defused through subtraction of the promoted objects.
It is a reenactment of standardized promotional scenes without products, underlining their pictorialism and theatricality. This imagery is transformed into a minimal lexicon of mediality, suspended within the dense, bright and fictional light of advertising.
From a catalogue of items emerges a repertoire of gestures without ends, critically re-imagining daily choreographies.
