Untitled (Not aspiring to be a picture frame), 2025, 32×6×4 cm, found frameless picture frame clips, screws, on found laminated plywood fragment from the back of a cabinet, signs of time and usage, wood, aluminium
Untitled (Not aspiring to be a picture frame) is composed of found frameless picture frame clips — the metal hardware designed to secure the glass over an image — mounted on a fragment of laminated plywood taken from the back of a disused cabinet.
Detached from the images they were meant to secure, the clips become compositional elements stripped of their supporting function, retaining only their forms and the traces of time and use embedded in the material. What appears is a fragment of deconstructed domesticity.
The work sits at the edge of the pictorial: neither image nor frame, neither furniture nor sculpture—a minimal proposition about the material infrastructure of representation and decoration.
