The work is built from footage of red traffic lights, recorded with a malfunctioning consumer-grade camera, switched on at each red light encountered during ordinary commutes — an accumulation of waiting time.

The traffic light is a sign within an apparatus of infrastructural governance that regulates mobility, addressed to human and machine readers. The broken camera sabotages this static, over-coded sign, designed to leave no margin for interpretation.

The soundtrack combines the background noises of the footage with a mix of sounds used in the regulation of bodies (both human and non-human) — acoustic deterrents for animals and humans, alarms, bells — recorded around the city, altered by the same malfunctioning camera.
