Untitled (dittico) is composed of two videos — two devices of documentation: an amateur memory-video recorded on a phone during a wedding ceremony and shared on the participants' WhatsApp group; footage from the documentation and monitoring of a cattle farm, digitized from a partially demagnetized VHS tape.

The two videos are zoomed and cut. The work focuses on two residual and marginal details: the repetitive and instinctual movement of the cows' ears at various moments in the documentation; the rhythmic motion of the fans held by the wedding guests, which takes up space between the ritual actions prescribed by the ceremony.

A correspondence emerges between the circulation of amateur videos and monitoring footage of productive systems, and between bodies organized by social rituals and by functional devices.

The work sabotages the documentary function of the image. What remains is not the event the video sought to preserve, but what accidentally fails to coincide with it: involuntary and marginal movements that exceed the choreographies assigned to bodies, and the unstable materialities of the videos themselves — the poor digital image, the degraded VHS — which enter into dialogue with the nervous bodily movements. What appears is an organic matter that the representation had not anticipated.
